Trends in Ag Machinery

6/21/2016

We like to stay ahead of the game in ag machinery and help farmers produce more and increase profit, so we sell machines that do just that. We are a centrally located business, with a global outlook. We are constantly in tune with how farmers are succeeding in the US, as well as what farmers are using globally and gaining insight and ideas about what products to offer our customers. We are farmers as well, in central Missouri, and use our products on our farm, we bale and wrap hay, we use our Lemken tillage equipment for soil preparation, and we plan to bag our grain when harvest comes this year. We have listed the trends we see right now and how it corresponds with the short line products we offer.

Efficiency:
We are seeing farmers now more than ever getting concerned with being more efficient. Machines like the McHale Fusion series baler/wrapper combinations is something that customers are loving. It only takes 1 person, 1 tractor and 1 machine to bale and wrap. You can choose your chop length, so it saves gas, time, and power for a TMR mixer if the hay is used in that manner because it is already chopped and processes much faster in a TMR mixer. You can also bale hay without wrapping if you desire. Every product we sell, from Lemken tillage equipment that has less power requirements to Jaylor TMR mixers that use less horsepower and mixes consistently with a square cut auger to McHale self-loading single bale wrappers have efficiency in mind, letting you do more work in less time.

The Environment:
Domestically and globally, we see the ag industry concerned with the environment. We work with lots of organic farmers who love our products like the Tubeline Nitro manure spreader, with many sizes to choose from and precise spreading capability, they love the lack of run off and the heavy duty nature of the Nitro as well as options like the Poultry Beater to spread chicken litter. Traditional and organic farmers alike have been impressed with the Lemken tillage line which uses less HP and is a 1 pass tool, reducing fuel costs. It is great for preparing your ground for organic farming in just one round.

Alternatives: Thinking outside the box
As the ag industry changes, we see farmers looking for alternatives to the common ways of doing things, for example, grain bagging. We have been grain bagging personally and as a business for over 10 years. The great thing that grain bagging has given our customers is control. Control to sell your grain when you choose and make a bigger profit margin in the process. Grain bagging is not a new idea, and globally farmers have been bagging grain for over 30 years. We sell Richiger grain bagging systems, and many of the other grain baggers on the market have been modeled after the Richiger systems because they are the most efficient, straight forward grain baggers out there. Customers have also loved our options like the Richiger RTU 1250 low profile truck unloader. Another alternative is Elmer’s manufacturing transfer tracks that can be fitted to most existing machines or ordered on Elmer’s machines like the Haul Master grain carts or Nutri Master applicator caddy. Transfer tracks give your machine 3x more floatation which reduces compaction problems in the field.
