Grain Bagging: Safeguard your crops, Boost Productivity and Sell when youre ready.Grain bagging has quickly become a hot item in the agriculture industry. Many people are realizing that bagging grain is a cost effective way to increase efficiency. And with the recent need for more storage, Richiger Flexi-Grain storage systems are becoming popular. Some reasons for the popularity include:
Farmers do not have to stop and wait for trucks to unload their grain, they can unload directly into bags and go about their harvest.
׷        Bags preserve grain better because they provide an anerobic environment, which virtually eliminates insects.
You decide where your grain is stored, since you get to choose the location of your bags instead of having them in a fixed location grain bin.
׷        Bags are easy to unload with a grain bag unloader, like the Richiger EA910, when you are ready to sell.

Some people may think that the concept of grain bagging is new, but historians have found that even the Egyptians used oxygen free grain storage.
Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions we get about our Richiger Grain Bagging Systems.

How quickly do the baggers bag grain?
We sell three models of baggers, the Richiger R950, the R1050 and the R950MX. The R950 (a 9ft bagger) will bag approximately 12,000 bushels an hour. The R1050 (10ft bagger) will load approximately 25,000 bushels an hour. The R-950MX Roller Mill Bagger with two milling units can process 88 tons (approx. 3,150 bushels) per hour. More information on the R950MX in a later blog post.
What about the unloader?
׷        The EA910 Grain unloader will unload 12,000 bushels an hour. So it will take about 5 minutes to unload 1,000 bushels.
How many bushels of grain will the bags hold?
9ft bags will hold approximately 40 bushels per foot, 10ft bags will hold approximately 50 bushels per foot. The lengths of bags vary anywhere from 200-333ft long. For example, if you had a 10x300ft bag, it would hold approximately 15,000 bushels, give or take some for closing bag up at the ends. We sell Plastar bags in both standard and premium mils, the premium being the highest mil on the market.
What types of grain can we store in the bags?
׷        All types of grain can be stored in bags.
Are the bags recyclable?
The bags are recyclable. Many recycling places will take our Plastar grain bags. We are currently working on a program to make drop off sites more readily available right at farmerגs locations. Please call us for more information on this 866-682-5514.
How do you keep pests from your site?
It is best to make sure that your site is prepared for and clean. Putting ammonium nitrate down before placing the bag down is recommended. Do not put bags on a hill or where you know there to a pest problem already. The bags are air tight, so unless you have punctured a hole, animals are not going to be able to smell the grain from outside the bag.
What moisture is favorable?
׷        25% or less moisture is optimal for all grain types.
